We are a nonprofit focused on improving CKM outcomes
Using our extensive medical experience treating patients in several countries, we have devised a technology-driven, patient-inclusive approach for improving cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic (CKM) disease outcomes in Africa. By focusing on outcomes, we also aim to reduce healthcare cost burdens and premature deaths.
The numbers tell a story about healthcare in Africa …
BIG HEALTH BURDEN
50m+ persons
in Africa has one or more CKM conditions
WITH UNDERINVESTMENT
50%+ cases
are undiagnosed or diagnosed but individuals are unaware of their condition
AND NOT ENOUGH DOCTORS
0.2 doctors
per 1,000 patients in most of Africa* vs 0.7 in Lower middle income countries
*including all countries in East Africa
MEANS HIGH MORTALITY
2m+ deaths
per year due to CKM diseases*
*accounting for half of all NCD deaths and 20% of all deaths in Africa
… which is why we developed three solutions for partners to use in nurturing a grassroots shift towards better care outcomes
TAG
We developed a registry to catalog cases through outreach and patient support partnerships that expands diagnosis awareness.
TREAT
We provide AI-driven solutions to help partners engage patients and offer a more holistic approach to treatment.
“Make the world a greater place and you will equally reap the rewards”
~Nelson Mandela
TARGET
We help monitor patient health to better prioritize and allocate resources in an effort to control disease and improve outcomes.
Open-source design promotes wider adoption and accelerates results
Our grassroots-enabling solutions focus on promoting patient involvement to improve CKM care outcomes and, in turn, stenghten healthcare systems. To maximize patient reach, all solutions are designed as open-source technology. Put differently, the solutions are scalable, turnkey software that can be used by outreach organizations, patient support programs, healthcare providers and governments without cost.* Although all solutions can be run independently and without government involvement, we favor government participation from the outset in order to initiate a smooth transition from aid-assisted outcome improvement to one shepherded and financially-supported by government.
